Save and Continue warning flashes

I’m trying to resolve an issue where a message reading “Save and Continue link used is expired or invalid.” flashes momentarily when a page containing a Gravity Form loads.

“Enable Save and Continue” is disabled in the form settings.

It’s not clear to me what’s triggering this message to display if the Save and Continue feature is disabled.

I thought about just hiding this with CSS but doesn’t appear to be a way to do that without also hiding other validation errors.

Any ideas as to what might be going on here and how to fix?
