Paypal payment not going through | submissions missed

It happens quite often that Paypal payments don’t go through. Most of the time when the customer wants to pay by credit card using the Paypal Checkout add-on. It’s usually the “3D Secure” error that occurs.

Anyway, so I’m using Paypal Checkout add-on with the option to pay by credit card as well as by the Paypal account.
However when the customer chooses to pay by credit card and the payment doesn’t go through the form won’t get submitted. So I have no idea how many customers I’ve already lost since I don’t get any notification of the form submission attempt.
I remember this was different with the Paypal Standard add-on, but that isn’t even offered as a GF add-on anymore.

What can I do to receive the form submission even if the credit card payment via Paypal Checkout add-on isn’t successful?

For any payment issue when using a Gravity Forms payment add-on, I recommend opening a support ticket so we can dig in:

Well, is it a technical issue to report, or is not sending the form content when payment wasn’t successful the way it’s supposed to be?

The add-on is working as currently designed. That said, the product team are looking at updating it to work more like the latest version of the Stripe Add-On, which uses a new Ajax-based submission process to create the entry even if the card payment fails.
