How to Accept iDEAL for Recurring Subscriptions in Gravity Forms + Stripe

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to set up recurring subscriptions in Gravity Forms using the Stripe Add-On, and I want to offer iDEAL as a payment option.

I understand that iDEAL is typically a one-time payment method, but I read that for subscriptions, Stripe can handle recurring payments via SEPA Direct Debit after the first iDEAL transaction.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

  1. Enabled iDEAL in my Stripe Dashboard.

  2. Created a Gravity Form with a Subscription Product Field (amount, interval, etc.).

  3. Set up a Stripe Feed for subscriptions.

  4. Form currency is EUR, and my Stripe account supports iDEAL.

My questions:

  • Will iDEAL automatically appear as an option for eligible users?

  • Will Stripe correctly handle future recurring payments after the first iDEAL payment?

  • Are there any known issues or extra steps needed to ensure subscriptions work smoothly with iDEAL in Gravity Forms?

I’d appreciate any guidance, examples, or best practices for setting this up.
