PayPal Checkout Add-on - Disable 3D Secure trigger

I noticed that quite a lot of my customers using my GF order forms with the PayPal checkout, but the credit card payment option will get a 3D Secure authentication error and the form will not get submitted. That’s quite annoying.
It seems like we could theoretically add the string “SCA_WHEN_REQUIRED” to the Paypal checkout, which would only trigger the 3D Secure check when it’s required by regional laws.

I don’t see any option to enable this setting in the PayPal Checkout add-on.
Does anybody have any ideas how to make the credit card payments less restrictive?
