I have not been working with GF long but it’s crunch time and I need help. Currently I have a primary form for package selection (basic admission to more in-depth branding questions for sponsors), nested in that is a more specific form for 3-Member Team makeup, but to allow for minors to be on teams I have a section for asking for a Parent/Guardian’s name and email if the age entered is below 18. So what that leaves is the Consent form part, which in other situations I’d just put on a separate webpage and have automatically linked in the notification email. How do I properly direct the Consent to the right people - adults if above age 18, parent/guardian’s emails if not? Nesting two forms did not seem to work properly.
Hey L,
Just to clarify, is that consent form a completely separate form on a separate page in this case?
I’d say if you’re already grabbing the age, it sounds like a few conditional notifications (with a link to that separate consent page) would do the trick here. You would use conditional logic to check what notification to send based on the age collected, and then as far as proper routing goes, each different notification would have the appropriate “Send to Email”, matching up with the corresponding email collected in the form.
Sounds like you’re already using GP Nested Forms and have a license with us, so please send us a messsage via our Support form. If you include an export of what you currently have, we would be happy to provide an example of this setup to help get you across the finish line here!
I think in the time left to me to get this online I’m just gonna have to double up - consent sections per player that hide if under 18 and show the parent/guardian email section, and have parent/guardians have the extra step of manually entering their own names and the minor player in question for the consent page (sent via notification email). If I’d had more time I’d like those to autofill based on the device that clicked but that probably requires a bunch of other tracking setup like you would have for mass email services like ConstantContact.
I will definitely be back here with annoying questions about a lot more long term projects I have in gravity forms.
And in the process of starting this I have realized I don’t have clear cut fields for the child form as an option for the notifications. Do I need a snippet of any sort to add that choice or do I just need to know the form id/field id numbers?
Support Request for GP Nested Forms Configuration
Hi J Yeager,
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
To answer your question, yes, the consent form is indeed a completely separate form on a separate page. Your suggestion about using conditional logic and notifications sounds like exactly what I need to achieve proper routing.
As requested, I have attached the export of my current setup. I would be very grateful if you could share an example of how to set this up so I can get this project finalized.
Thank you so much for your great support!
Best regards,
L
