Copy a nested form entry field to a field in the parent form

I have a form with a nested form, once a submit and entry on the nested form, (for this instance, a date field) I want that value to appear in a field on the parent form before submission. Please help.

Thanks for getting back to me Chris, I couldnt find an easy way, I think this will help, could it be possible for you to modify the code to copy a field value instead of the form ID. your help would be much appreciated.
