Add Mailchimp tag based on answer, but only if the user is subscribed

Hi,

I want to tag logged in users with a Mailchimp tag when they are answering a quiz on my site. The tag is based on their answer. I only want to add this tag when the user is already subscribed. If the person is not subscribed, I do not want to add them to my list and I do not want them to receive the confirm your email address mail (I use a double opt-in). Is there any conditional logic to add so I’ll only tag users if already subscribed?

Hi Laura,

This reads like a case where Gravity Flow would provide you with the flexibility you are after.

• It’s outgoing webhook step type can map response values from an API back into fields in the entry.
• From the Mailchimp API docs, it looks like you’d be doing a search for members and then storing either total_items (the number of results returned) or perhaps exact_matches\0\email_address (the first member returned with same email address you queried against)
• Then, any steps which your remaining workflow has (including mailchimp feeds) can use a condition to confirm whether to perform for that entry or not.
