I’m looking at purchasing Gravity Forms but I don’t want it to be auto re-new’ed every 12 months, is this possible.

After you purchase, you can cancel the subscription, which will prevent automatic renewal. When you cancel the subscription, the license remains in effect until the original expiration date.
That also means the license will expire at the end of the term, and you will have to purchase a new license if you want to continue using Gravity Forms. You can change the license key without any effect on forms, entries, settings or feeds, so there is no downside to purchasing a new license if your existing one expires.

I never authorized the renewal charge, I didn’t knowing have a recurring agreement, Gravity cheated by charging an old credit card and getting bank to process on new card. Will reject charge and change to using different forms product, probably Caldera. Cheaters.
