reCAPTCHA v2 checkbox, how to turn off for a certain form?

Hi,

We have a report button on every page, that brings up a form for people to report any concerns. Due to reCAPCTHA this is making a huge difference to the load-up time of the page, from 4.9 seconds to 2.8, just by turning of the reCAPTCHA.

We have reCAPTCHA v2 checkbox which we want to keep for all our other forms, as this visible check is comforting to people and is generally accessibility friendly, when compared to other alternatives. It’s also less tracking and code than v3.

I know you can use an add-on gravity form (for v3) to control which forms have reCAPTCHA but we’d be introducing another plugin to help performance which seems counter-productive. Does anyone know of a code to take reCAPCTHA off a specific form?

reCAPTCHA v2 will not be output in a form unless you add a CAPTCHA field in the form builder.

If you are trying to use the same form in multiple places and want a CAPTCHA on some pages but not when they click the ‘report’ button, that is not supported. You will need to configure another form without a CAPTCHA to be used when the people click the report button.
