reCAPTCHA Loading MultipleTimes

I’ve been tasked with speeding up a website that I’m working on when I noticed reCAPTCHA loading multiple times. I had an outdated version installed of “Gravity Forms reCAPTCHA Add-On” and read that v1.5.0 fixed an issue with duplicate entries so I installed the new plugin to see if it helped. It did not.

As far as I can tell this is the only way the site is firing the script.

Is anyone else running into reCAPTCHA loading more than once? I’m trying to find the second instance by disabling plugins 1 at a time and performing a page speed evaluation on Google. I’m not sure if it’s being called from another plugin so I’m moving through my plugins to see if maybe something else is running this as well.

I read that this might be an issue with Gravity Forms somewhere. I’m just trying to figure out where this 2nd instance is being triggered. Anyone have any insight?

Hello @seekmomentum ,

Thank you for contacting the Gravity Forms support forum. We are sorry to hear about the difficulties you are experiencing.

To use the latest version of the reCAPTCHA Add-On on your site, you will need to remove any CAPTCHA field you have added to the form. In the latest version of this Add-On, you can control the captcha visibility for a specific form in the form settings.

It’s possible that another plugin or your theme is also loading the reCAPTCHA script. To troubleshoot this, continue your process of disabling plugins one at a time and checking your page speed. Specifically, look for any security or anti-spam plugins that might also use reCAPTCHA.

Additionally, switch to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Twenty-One) temporarily to see if your theme is causing the duplicate load.

You can also clear the cache of the website ( It might be on the website level or hosting level) and then try again.

Let us know if still the issue persists.

Regards,
