We recently upgraded to the latest version of the Slack add-on and cannot connect to have the submissions dumped into the proper channel. When we choose the Private Channel option, the next dropdown with the list of private channels won’t open. We’ve tried no-conflict mode. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the Slack account. Nothing is working, and I’ve submitted 3 support requests (elite license), and nobody has responded since the 18th of February.
Hi Jeremy. The product team is aware of the issue and is working on a fix. If you submit a support ticket, we can notify you when the fix is available. Otherwise, the next major release of the Slack Add-On will contain the fix. Thank you.
Same problem, very frustrating! Any Eta on fix?
With the change in API granularity at Slack, Apps that need to write to Private Groups must be invited to them first (just like a regular Slack User).
When you connected the add-on, you should have seen a message in Slack that <Slack User> added an integration to this channel: Gravity Forms
; you can right-click on that App and select “Add this App to a channel,” and choose your Private Group.
Alternatively, you can go to the Private Group and type /invite @gravityforms
@richardw8k i did that, but i am still unable to connect the addon, it simply redirects me to a 404 page.
That’s a different issue, a conflict, usually a plugin with security or redirection features blocking the redirect back, so the auth data can’t be saved. You’ll need to try deactivating any plugins like that, clear the caches of any caching plugins the site could be using and your browser cache and cookies, then try connecting again.
thank you, ur reply above (inviting the bot to the private channel) fixed it. PS. i had hide WP, thats what was redirecting me, once deactivated, the addon connected fine. Ty
