Is it possible to backup or export forms?

Hello,

A client created some forms but they need further development. I want to know if it is possible to back up the forms and export them to our development machine so that we do not need to mess with the client’s production machine.

Thanks for your help.

Yes, you can export forms by going to Forms → Import/Export → Export Forms. Then select the forms you want to export and save a copy of. You will end up with a json file of all forms when you’ve done this correctly.

Then, import that file on your development machine by going to Forms → Import/Export → Import Forms. Upload the json file, and all the forms will be on your development machine.

Once you make changes on the development machine, you will can export them and then import them on the production machine. Note that importing them will create new forms on the production machine, and you will need to embed those forms in the locations where the original forms were, and you can then deactivate the original forms and use the new forms going forward. The entries collected previously will still be associated with the original forms.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.
