After v2.5, why is there div with class "admin-hidden-markup" for hidden fields?

I just upgraded from v2.4.x to v2.5.7. Why is there a div with class “admin-hidden-markup” for hidden fields after v2.5? I have to add a custom CSS “display: none” to the class to hide it.
