Why is there a red number badge next to Forms in WP Admin?
You likely have a Gravity Forms related update available. Given the icon next to Forms, you’re not on the most recent version of Gravity Forms as that icon changed starting with Gravity Forms 2.5.

Thanks for the response. I checked the plugin status and it says a registration is required for automatic updates. The owner of the site does not want automatic updates, and wants the badge removed from admin. Is this possible?

The only other alternative would be to hide the badge via CSS injected into the admin.
It is extremely important to keep software you’re using on your sites updated, for both the site owner and the users of the site’s sakes. I’d recommend updating rather than going the route of willfully ignoring that. The Importance of Updates - Gravity Forms Documentation
