Does it need special customization or should a part of it be changed?

The snippet doesn’t require any customization, but you do have to insert the gpnf_parent_entry_id parameter into the Parameter Name setting.
This needs to be done in the parent form. If you want to pass this to the child form, you must first populate the parent entry ID in a field on the parent form and then use the {Parent} merge tag to pass the ID to a field in the child form.
