Hi.
I work in a school. I’ve created a Field Trip Request form that is working well. I added Gravity Kit Calendar View to communicate with the Main Office, Transportation, etc.
However, I have one issue left to solve. Some of our Field Trips recur on multiple days. Currently, I have multiple days set up as options. There is a field that asks if the field trip is a single day or multiple days. If the user selects “multiple days”, multiple date fields open (Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, etc).
However, the Calendar View in Gravity Kit will only link to one date.
I tried implementing the Multiple Date Picker from Gravity Ranger, which works to collect multiple dates. However, since it uses a Single Line Text field, Gravity Calendar won’t let me select that field as a Start date (only date fields are listed as options).
So, does anyone know of way to handle this gracefully?
Currently my options seem to be:
- Have teachers fill out a separate form for each day - (very much less than ideal, teachers are busy and this would add enough friction that it just wouldn’t get done).
- Have an Admin Asst from each school get notified each time “multiple days” are selected and go into the backend to duplicate an entry, then adjust the date - (again less than ideal as the Admin Asst would have to remember to do it, plus the possibilities of unintentional harm is great)
- Assign a Tech person to take on option 2 above.
- Create a Start and End date - (less than ideal as then the calendar will have lots of dates that don’t have field trips showing up, thus very confusing)
I would greatly appreciate any additional thoughts on how to solve this issue. Being able to create events on a calendar with multiple dates from a Gravity Form would be wonderful for us.
