How to create Select Custom Field Type

Hey all,

I’m trying to create a dropdown that allows the user to choose to enter their own value instead of a dropdown option. This seems to be possible – https://docs.gravityforms.com/select_custom-field/#h-example.

While I’ve used Gravity Forms for over 10 years I’m new to trying to add custom fields outside of what plugins like GravityWiz can do.

The documentation on https://docs.gravityforms.com/select_custom-field/#h-example seems stark. Can someone help point me in the right direction for adding this field type or has a snippet/plugin that already does this?
