Can you require Save & Continue?

Does anyone know if you can require Save & Continue to complete a form? We were hoping to use this as a tool to validate receipt of emails from us to the applicant’s email address. We’re running into problems when we select an award recipient, but cannot contact them to let them know. (Phone/address are not reliable as the awards are offered only to military personnel who move often.)

Or, does anyone have another idea how we can confirm their email address and that they can receive an email from us prior to completing a form?

Any ideas would be welcome.

My first thought was something like Double Opt-in but it sounds like you don’t even want them to submit the form until they’ve confirmed their email?

HI @EVH2

So if I got it correctly, you’d like them to “Save & Continue” the form. But behind the scine you’d like to send them a confirmation email, after click on it, they could fill the rest of the form and finally submit it.

Is that right?

Correct. We need to be sure they can get our response emails because when we send information about their award we need to be sure they’ll get it. Otherwise we (and they) will have wasted a bunch of time. 99% of the time email is the only way we can communicate with the applicants, especially those that are deployed. It’s definitely a challenge.

That is correct. We don’t HAVE to use Save & Continue, but just need a way that they can confirm receipt of our email to be allowed to continue/complete the form.

An alternate thought might be to use 2 forms, but include the link to the second (full) form in the automated notification response. (Thinking out loud) is there a way to link the two forms by embedded user ID or something so we know who is completing the form without requiring them to enter their contact info twice?

Here’s a solution:

Requires a little code:

Fun use case!
