Why force users to edit their functions file just to hide a line of text?

It should be an easy thing to hide the “”(*)" indicates required fields" notice. Instead, you’re asking non-coders to edit their functions.php file, which can produce a fatal error if you don’t know what you’re doing, or make a mistake. I can’t believe that this is the only way to get rid of it. Why is this? Why not take 15 minutes and add a checkbox to form setting that would hide/show the notification?

The best place to submit product feedback, suggestions, and feature requests is via the submit idea form on the roadmap page. Those submissions go directly to the product management team.
