I have a Gravity Form with an email ddrress field. When soneone enteres xxx@bcri.ca, the gravity form says “Please enter a valid email address”. Whty? How do I fix this?
Email addresses are validated by WordPress, specifically the is_email function, which out of the box only checks that the value meets some basic format requirements for an email address.
WordPress does include a filter, is_email, in that function, which numerous plugins in the WordPress plugin directory use to perform enhanced email validation.
Gravity Forms also includes a filter that can be used to reject emails:
