Adding entry notes programmatically [RESOLVED]

The only documented ability to add an entry note is using the Add-On framework. That’s great for add-ons, but what about in other contexts? The GFAPI exposes many actions, like updating an entry for example, but no method for adding a note to an entry.

Does anyone have a method, short of inserting the note into the database directly?

The add-on framework itself uses the add_note() method of the GFFormsModel class:

GFFormsModel::add_note( $entry_id, $user_id, $user_name, $note, $note_type );
