# There has been a critical error on this website \[RESOLVED\]

On the front end my forms no longer go to the confirmation message (just stays on the form and keeps spinning), but entries are logged. On the backend when I try to go into GF logging or form confirmations/notifications settings I get the WP error “There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”

Since I can’t get to GF Error Log page all I have to work with is the WP email that gets sent out cause of the error…

Contact your hosting provider and have them enable the PHP ctype functions for your site. [PHP: Ctype - Manual](https://www.php.net/manual/en/book.ctype.php)

That you for the support. That did the trick along with a PHP version downgrade to 7.3.
